These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Eli Riedel, an individual (“Colorlife,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern the Colorlife iOS application, related services, and public website (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Apple's Standard End User License Agreement(“Apple Standard EULA”) governs the license to the app unless a different license is shown in the applicable App Store. These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA and govern Colorlife's accounts, cloud service, subscriptions, content, and other features. If the two conflict about the software license, the Apple Standard EULA controls.
1. Family use and account responsibility
Colorlife is a general-audience family app. A parent, legal guardian, or other adult who can enter a binding agreement must set up and manage the Colorlife account, purchases, photo uploads, prompts, and other online features. Children may use the coloring tools with appropriate adult supervision. The managing adult is responsible for activity through the account, for deciding what is appropriate for their family, and for supervising a child's use. School- or educator-managed accounts are not part of the intended V1 service.
You may upload a family photo that shows a child if you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or you have permission from the child's parent or legal guardian, and you have any other rights needed to use the photo. Do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information about anyone in a prompt, especially a child's full name, home address, school, precise location, or health information. Colorlife requires a versioned acknowledgment before the first photo upload—and again after a material policy change or withdrawal—that you will follow this permission rule. Colorlife does not attempt to estimate a person's age from an image.
2. What Colorlife does
Colorlife uses AI image generation to turn a photo or text idea into a line-art coloring page. You can color pages in the app, store them in your private account, sync them across supported devices, and export, print, or share copies.
3. Accounts and account security
When the app starts, it creates or restores a pseudonymous anonymous backend account so pages can be generated, saved, and synced. You can make the account recoverable with Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or an email account. You are responsible for securing your device, linked provider or email credentials, and for activity through your account.
Anonymous credentials are stored in protected device credential storage and may persist after an app reinstall on the same device. Credentials stored or refreshed by the current version are bound to the originating device. They may be restored from a backup onto that same originating device, but they do not migrate to a different device through backup or restore. An older backup created before this protection was applied may already contain a prior migratable credential. None of these behaviors is guaranteed or a supported account-recovery method. If you lose or reset the device, app, backup, or credential storage before linking a permanent sign-in method, pages tied to that account may become permanently unreachable. Link Apple, Google, or email for deliberate account recovery. Tell us promptly at support@colorlife.app if you believe an account has been compromised.
4. Colorlife Pro subscriptions
- After an eligible account uses its one promotional free generation, continued AI generation requires an auto-renewable subscription called Colorlife Pro. The intended U.S. offerings are $39.99 per year and $4.99 per week. The yearly plan includes a three-day free trial only when Apple reports that the purchaser is eligible. The weekly plan has no free trial.
- Prices, currency, taxes, availability, trial eligibility, and any localized terms shown in Apple's purchase sheet control over examples in these Terms. We will not charge you outside Apple's purchase process.
- Apple processes payment through your App Store account. Colorlife and RevenueCat receive subscription and transaction metadata, but not your card or bank-account details.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. Apple controls the renewal date and billing timing shown for your storefront. You can manage or cancel in Colorlife Settings or your App Store subscription settings.
- An eligible free trial converts to the selected paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple controls trial eligibility and may limit a trial to one per subscription group; the timing and terms shown by Apple for your storefront control.
- Cancelling stops future renewal; access generally continues through the paid period. Deleting your Colorlife account or the app does not cancel Apple billing.
- Apple handles billing disputes and refunds under its policies. Price changes are handled through Apple's required notice and consent process.
5. Free generation, Pro limits, and availability
Eligible first-time accounts receive one promotional free generation. Eligibility is limited to one per account and, as an anti-abuse measure, generally one per Apple device. Reinstalling the app, deleting or recreating an account, clearing local data, or changing credentials does not restore or guarantee the offer. Colorlife Pro currently permits up to 20 generation attempts per UTC day. This is a limit on attempts, not a promise of 20 successful pages. An attempt may count once Colorlife commits it and begins the AI-processing step, including if the provider refuses it, the request fails in transit or times out, or no page returns. A request rejected before that step does not count.
We use technical safeguards to prevent abuse, automated use, security incidents, and unexpected service-wide cost. Those safeguards or an outage may temporarily make generation unavailable. They are not intended to reduce ordinary paid use. We will provide reasonable notice before a material reduction to the recurring Pro benefit when practicable, and you may contact support if an extended interruption materially affects your subscription.
You may not create multiple accounts or otherwise evade the free-generation, daily, entitlement, or service-safety limits.
6. Your inputs, permissions, and responsibility
You retain the rights you already have in photos, prompts, and other material you submit (“Inputs”). You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to submit each Input and allow the processing described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. For a photo, that includes any necessary photographer copyright and permission to use the image of each recognizable person. If a child is shown, you must be the child's parent or legal guardian or have permission from their parent or legal guardian. Do not submit confidential material or a person's image without permission, and do not put unnecessary sensitive personal information in a prompt. Your confirmation does not transfer responsibility to Colorlife and is not an automated determination of anyone's age.
You grant Colorlife a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, transmit, format, safety-check, process, store, back up, and display Inputs and generated results only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the reliability of the Services; comply with law; and enforce these Terms. This license allows the disclosed service providers to perform those tasks for Colorlife. It ends when the applicable content is deleted, subject only to temporary backups and any safety or legal retention described in the Privacy Policy.
Separately, account deletion leaves a restricted, non-content suppression record containing a pseudonymous account UUID and deletion-verification state so delayed provider activity cannot recreate a deleted account. That record contains no photo, prompt, generated page, email, Apple identifier, or other contact information and is not retained under the content license above.
Restricted deletion-suppression and status records may also contain one-way, domain-separated hashes of temporary deletion-continuation capabilities. Colorlife uses those hashes only to verify crash-safe deletion continuation or status requests after the source account can no longer authenticate. The hashes cannot be used to reconstruct the raw capability, which is not retained in those records.
Colorlife does not use your photos, prompts, or pages for advertising. OpenAI's handling of API content, including its model-improvement controls, is described in the Privacy Policy.
7. AI-generated results
AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable, or different from what you expect. Similar or identical results may be provided to other users. A result may not qualify for copyright protection, and it may implicate third-party copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights depending on the Input and intended use.
As between you and Colorlife, you retain your rights in Inputs. To the extent permitted by law, Colorlife gives you any rights it receives in a generated result. Colorlife does not guarantee that a result is unique, non-infringing, protectable, or suitable for a particular personal or commercial use. You are responsible for reviewing a result and ensuring your use is lawful and appropriate.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- exploit or sexualize a minor, or create, request, possess, or distribute child sexual abuse material or sexual content involving a minor;
- create nonconsensual intimate, graphic, harassing, threatening, defamatory, deceptive, or abusive content;
- impersonate a person, identify a person, or infer sensitive or private attributes without a lawful basis and necessary permission;
- violate intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights;
- commit or facilitate unlawful activity or violate an applicable AI-provider safety policy;
- bypass safety checks, access controls, subscriptions, generation limits, or account restrictions;
- scrape, automate, reverse engineer, probe, attack, overload, disrupt, or introduce malicious code into the Services, except where a non-waivable law expressly permits limited reverse engineering;
- access another user's account or content; or
- resell the Services, sell access to an account, or misrepresent an AI result as verified fact.
We may reject a request, remove content from our systems, limit generation, or suspend access when we reasonably believe this section was violated or action is needed to protect users or the Services. Contact support if you believe a safety decision was made in error.
9. Exported, printed, and shared copies
When you save a page to Photos, print it, or share it through another app or person, that copy leaves Colorlife's control. Account deletion cannot recall those copies. Keep your own backup of anything important; Colorlife is not an archival storage service.
10. Colorlife property and feedback
Colorlife and its licensors own the app, website, service software, design, branding, and other materials we provide, excluding your Inputs and the rights in generated results described above. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Services under these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA.
If you voluntarily send feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you as its source without permission.
11. Service changes, maintenance, and third parties
The Services depend on network access and providers including Apple, Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, PostHog, and Meta. Features may be delayed or unavailable because of maintenance, provider changes, safety controls, device limitations, or events outside our reasonable control. We may modify or stop a feature, but will provide notice where required and avoid materially reducing a paid recurring benefit without reasonable advance notice when practicable.
Third-party services and exported content are also governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for a third-party service outside our control, but this does not limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.
12. Account deletion, suspension, and termination
You may stop using Colorlife at any time. Settings → Delete account starts permanent deletion of the Colorlife account and cloud content. First-party account and page deletion is designed to occur during that request; restricted processor cleanup and verification can continue afterward as explained in the Privacy Policy. After the deleted account is removed, the installed app automatically starts a separate, empty guest account with a new random identifier so it can continue working. The deleted pages and linked Apple, Google, or email identity are not restored to that guest, but Apple billing and limited RevenueCat subscription records may continue or associate an active entitlement. The replacement guest can also be deleted. Deleting either account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
We may suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated violation of these Terms, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, or a serious risk to users or the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute terms—remain in effect.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services and AI-generated results are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, a particular generation result, or that every result is lawful for every use. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Colorlife is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Services. Colorlife's aggregate liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Colorlife in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US $100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited, including where applicable liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Guadalupe County, Texas, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere or requires another law or forum.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. We will state the effective date and provide any additional notice required by law. If a change materially and adversely affects an active paid subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice when practicable. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
17. General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the applicable Apple terms are the entire agreement about the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the Services, subject to applicable notice requirements. Section headings are for convenience.
